Help with Registration
Registration Process
Members who have already supplied their email address to the club should have received an email indicating that they ave been registered on the website and the username and password to login.
Some members may no longer wish to use the email address that they originally supplied to the club. That is not a problem. What you must do is:
- Login to the site with the details contained in the email.
- Go into your User Profile and select the Contact Info tab.
- Set your email address to your preferred address.
- Set your username to whatever you like - preferably NOT your email address.
- Set your password to something you can remember!
Please do NOT register again as you will have duplicate entries in the database and it will be an administrative nightmare!
How to register yourself
If you did not receive an email indicating that you are already registered, it's probable that the club doesn't have your email address on file and you will have to register yourself. In this case:
- Press "Register" on the Member Login form.
- On the Registration Form -
- Enter your name - this must be recognised by the administrator as a member of the club.
- Enter your email address - this address cannot be already belonging to a registered member of the website. If you get an error indicating the email address is already registered, it's possible that you didn't receive the email that was sent. In that case, try to login with that email address and press "Forgot password". Otherwise:
- Enter a username - this name must be unique - remember it is the name by which you will be recognised as a contributor to the online forum.
- Enter a password - valid password format is described when you hover the mouse over the blue 'i'.
- Verify your password.
- Enter the security code displayed.
- Press Register.
- If all fields are entered correctly, you will be sent an email asking you to confirm your registration. Once you have done this, the administrator, who will approve your application, will be informed.
- Once the administrator approves your application, you will receive a further email inviting you to login.
Update User Profile
Once you are registered and approved, you will have the opportunity to update your user profile.
- Press User Profile on the Members Only menu.
- There are 4 tabs on the Edit Details page -
- Portrait - you can upload a picture of yourself. This must be approved by the administrator.
- Contact Info - you can change your name, email address, username or password.
- Forum - You can set some preferences for working with the online forum.
- Smart Club - you cannot change anything here, but it displays some of the fields that have been imported from the members' database in the club office.
